I was reading this new post from the Court of Appeals. Why was the mother's motion granted and the father's denied to begin with? It appears that the mother was automatically given preferential treatment once again just because she's the mom. How frustrating.

I've read the detailed AG's opinion on the case and this just baffles
me. This Hain fellow is at least equal in the ability to care for and bond
with the child, yet the state of Nebraska pretty much slaps the guy
right across the face.
This view on the part of the state of Nebraska does neatly position
the divorce attorneys for ongoing revenue from any dispute, rather
than assuming that two adults can work things out on their own. What
a perverse system - put an end to welfare for mothers by allowing
father shopping ( someone write an article with details about this
please) and create another de facto welfare program by ensuring that
custody always implies custody dispute.
